Towels, Towels, Everywhere May 30, 2011

We used to have a big problem of towel over usage in our house. The kids would use a towel once, leave it on the floor, and it would end up in my laundry room. I spent more than half my laundry time and money washing towels. It was getting ridiculous.

So, I came up with a plan. I would make each kid their own, wonderful, hooded towel and give them their very own place to hang it. I went to JC Penny’s and bought 3 bath towels and 3 wash cloths on sale. I stitched them together, along with a loop to hang them up with, and there you have it. It is a great system. I now do one load of towels a week. It is quite wonderful.

Where they hang their towels up (Don't look at the wallpaper. I hate it, but not enough to spend time and money to replace it. Especially since it's the boys' bathroom.)

Sam all wrapped up in his soft, snuggly towel.

The next time I make one of these for a baby shower I’ll create a tutorial. They really are super easy to make.

You could probably even make them without a sewing machine.
